A Waterloo woman has been arrested for biting a Cedar Falls police officer during a drunk driving investigation, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. Police received a call about an erratic driver in the area of West First and Center Streets around 7:25 p.m. Monday. A Chevy S-10 allegedly struck another vehicle but continued on. The truck was eventually found in a ditch in front of 2025 Central Avenue after it struck a tree. The driver was identified as 52 year old Joyce Wood. She was taken to a hospital where Police noted she had slurred speech and smelled of alcohol. As officers attempted to execute a search warrant to test her blood she allegedly bit an officer and kicked out at other officers. Wood was charged with Assault on a Peace Officer, first offense Operating While Intoxicated, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, and Reckless Driving.
