Police in Waterloo are trying to piece together how a woman driving south on Highway 218 near the Greenhill Road exit early Sunday morning wound up shot and killed. Police say a bullet entered the moving car from the outside and struck two of the three occupants of the vehicle. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. A male passenger was taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for further treatment. The victim’s names have not been released. No arrests have been reported to this point, the investigation is still ongoing.
