Two people were injured in a wrong-way crash in Bremer County Tuesday. The sheriff’s office says the quick actions of one of the drivers prevented a head-on collision.
The Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene in the southbound lanes of Highway 218, just north of C50, at 1:22 p.m. Tuesday.
77-year-old Agnes Proctor of Waverly was driving north in the southbound lanes of Highway 218, when she approached 36-year old Megan Holm of Minneapolis who was driving correctly.
Holm swerved to avoid a head-on crash, but the Sheriff’s Office says the two vehicles still side-swiped each other.
Proctor was taken to the hospital in Waverly for her injuries. Holm was treated and released for her injuries.
