A Waterloo man has been arrested after allegedly driving on the wrong side of the road before crashing into a pole and patrol car, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. The Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office received 911 calls at around 3:00 a.m. on Sunday reporting that a pickup truck was travelling south in the northbound lanes of Highway 218 near Greenhill Road. When deputies located the truck the driver pulled away hitting speeds of 80 mph and nearly colliding with another vehicle. The chase was briefly called off for safety reasons, but picked up again a short time later going 75mph through a neighborhood. Shortly thereafter the truck struck a utility pole before crashing into a patrol car on Bayard Street. The driver, 26 year old Casey Holsinger, was arrested and charged with felony Eluding, Carrying Weapons, and Reckless Driving. He was released pending trial.
