Young, Local Teacher Dies from Pneumonia

A teacher in the Dike New Hartford School District has passed away after dealing with complications of pneumonia following a diagnosis of TTP (Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura). Superintendent Justin Stockdale posted on the school’s Facebook page saying that 31 year old Court Koch had a “lasting impact on his students, co-workers and the entire DNH community.” Koch had been a high school special education teacher in the district since 2014. He leaves behind a wife, Lynette, and a one year old daughter, Emery. Stockdale says grief counselors will be on hand for students and staff in the coming days.
