There’s a new COVID-19 therapy available locally called Molnupiravir. Meyer Pharmacy in Waverly was one of just five pharmacies in the state of Iowa to get their hands on the oral pills. They got their first shipment on Wednesday . The therapy is for those infected with COVID-19 that are over 18 years old and have factors that put them at a higher risk for hospitalization.
Pharmacist Ryan Frerichs talked about the medication.
The prescription therapy is to be used for those with mild to moderate coronavirus within five days of symptoms starting.
