Thursday night on Y99.3 despite 22 points from Hogan Hansen the Waverly-Shell Rock boys basketball team fell to Clear Lake 43-38 in overtime. The Go-Hawks now are 5-6 on the season. Weather permitting the Go-Hawks will travel to play Webster City Saturday afternoon.
Thursday night in area boys basketball: Waterloo Christian beat Clarksville 66-49, Janesville topped Dunkerton 51-46, Sumner-Fredericksburg beat Dike-New Hartford 62-57, Union edged Jesup 51-48 and Turkey Valley thumped Tripoli 63-36.
Thursday night in girls basketball: Clarkville hammered Waterloo Christian 65-22, Dike-New Hartford beat Sumner-Fredericksburg 57-39, Jesup topped Union 48-30, Newman beat North Butler 57-48 and Turkey Valley topped Tripoli 71-52.
