The American Rivers Conference announced its weekly performers of the week with Wartburg Football’s Nick Deppe earnnig Special Teams Player of the Week and Antonio Santillan receiving Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Junior punter Nick Deppe averaged 46.2 yards per punt and hit two inside the 20-yard line, including a career-long 69 yard punt that stands as the longest this season in the conference.
Sophomore linebacker Antonio Santillan led all tacklers against Loras with 13, along with two fumble recoveries and he forced one. He also added a sack and a pass breakup.
Both honors are the first of Deppe’s and Santillan’s careers.
Wartburg will play Hope College in the playoffs Saturday in Holland, Michigan. Countdown to Kickoff Show at 10:00 and kickoff at 11:00 on KWAY Country AM 1470 FM 96.3.
