After Day One of the Boys State Wrestling Tournament the Waverly-Shell Rock Go-Hawks have six of the twelve wrestlers they sent to Des Moines still alive in the brackets. Easton Jorgensen at 150 pounds, Kane Keller at 126, Meric Hagarty at 215 and Kipton Lewis at 120 are in the quarterfinals. Mason Hinricks at 285 pounds and McCoy McIlravy at 132 are in the consolation side. Bohdy Miller, Dawson Wardlow, Deegan Lewis, Eli Forcier, Mekyver Hagarty and Paxton Behrends are out.
The Class 3A Session of State Wrestling continues Thursday at 2:30 on KWAY Country AM 1470 FM 96.3.
