At 10:51 Thursday morning, some Waverly Utilities customers served from the south load center experienced an outage. Customers along and SE of an area on 4th St SW and the Cedar River Parkway corridors were primarily affected by the outage.
The cause of the outage was a bad arrestor on a dip pole in front of Applebee’s. According to Waverly Utilities, roughly 90% of customer affected by the outage had power restored within 20-25 minutes. The remaining 10% of customers had power restored within 41 minutes of the initial outage being reported. This station also lost power for 41 minutes. Crews have made repairs to the faulty arrestor.
