A Black Hawk Country Magistrate has issued a guilty verdict in the bench trial of 30 year old Shawna Marie Flippo of Waterloo. She was accused of running a stop sign and causing the death of off duty Black Hawk County Deputy Timothy Peterson when she collided with his motorcycle. Flippo was also found guilty of driving while suspended and having no proof of insurance. Prosecutors have indicated that they intend to seek jail time, and sentencing will be held at a later date.
