Wednesday night in women’s basketball the 9-ranked Wartburg Knights defeated Buena Vista University 95-59 during the “Play4Kay” cancer awareness game at Levick Arena. With the win, Bob Amsberry notched his 400th win as a head coach. He compiled 131 victories at Rockford College from 1997-2006 and has now reached career 400 wins in his 14th season at the helm of the Wartburg program. In addition, senior Emma Gerdes of Cedar Falls became the 17th player in Wartburg women’s basketball program history to join the 1,000 point club.
The Wartburg men fell to Buena Vista 91-67.
