30 year veteran fireman and current Cedar Falls Fire Chief John Schilling is resigning to take a position with the Carpentersville, Illinois fire department. Schilling says the move is a mix of furthering his professional career and moving closer to family. Chief Shilling will officially end his 7 year tenure on June 23rd and city officials expect it to take several months to find a permanent replacement.
