Wednesday night on Y99.3 the Waverly-Shell Rock softball team suffered their first loss as Decorah won 14-0 in 4 innings. Walks and errors by the Go-Hawks were problematic and the Vikings had some timely big hits.
In other softball Wednesday night: Wapsie Valley edged Dike-New Hartford 5-4, Janesville thumped Dunkerton 16-6, Alburnett beat Don Bosco 8-2 and Nashua-Plainfield edged Northwood-Kensett 6-4.
In baseball scores: Sumner-Fredericksburg edged Gladbrook-Reinbeck 10-9, Riceville outscored Clarksville 12-6, Dike-New Hartford clipped West Branch 6-4, Wapsie Valley beat Denver 6-2, Columbus topped Don Bosco 6-1 and Nashua-Plainfield thumped Northwood-Kensett 11-1.
