Tuesday night the Go-Hawk baseball team clinched the Northeast Iowa Conference Championship by sweeping New Hampton. The Go-Hawks won a nip-tuck Game 1 3-2 behind stellar pitching from Chance Key who had 9 strike outs. In Game 2 the Go-Hawks scored early and often including getting a home run from Payton Leonard as they won 9-0.
In other baseball scores: Nashua-Plainfield beat Janesville 13-3, Wapsie Valley topped Janesville 12-2 Dunkerton slammed Central City 15-3, Grundy Center blanked Clarksville 5-0, Don Bosco crushed Dike-New Hartford 7-0, Sumner-Fredericksburg beat Clayton Ridge 6-1 and Mason City Newman topped Denver 12-1.
Tuesday night in softball: #1 Collins-Maxwell edged #3 Clarksville 2-1.
