After 16 seasons at Waverly-Shell Rock baseball coach Casey Klunder is leaving to become the head coach at Central College. Klunder replaces Eric Van Kley who resigned from the Dutch in June.
Klunder posted a 386-185 record at Waverly-Shell Rock while reaching the State Tournament four times, the State Semifinals three times and winning the 2015 State Championship. In 2015 he was named the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association’s State Coach of the Year.
Klunder talked with our Matt Ray about how how leaving W-SR was hard.
