Prep Scores 1-4-22

Tuesday night on KWAY Country the 5th ranked Waverly-Shell Rock girls fell to 6th ranked Center Point-Urbana. The Go-Hawks were down 21-11 at halftime before tying it 23-23 in the 3rd quarter and briefly taking the lead, but in the end the Stormin’ Pointers held off the Go-Hawks 40-34.

Tuesday night the Waverly-Shell Rock boys beat Mason City 59-45 to improve to 7-2 overall.

Tuesday night on Y99.3 rivals Wapsie Valley and Denver split a doubleheader. In the girls’ game 2nd ranked Denver won 64-16 behind Reese Johnson’s 18 points. In the boys game Wapsie Valley upset 2nd ranked Denver 64-60 as Gunner Meyer netted 23 points. Denver was led by Caylor Hoffer’s 25 points.

Tuesday night in other boys basketball: Prairie beat Cedar Falls 64-56, North Tama topped Clarksville 70-56, Tripoli beat Don Bosco 53-33, Dunkerton crushed Valley Lutheran 85-32, Janesville edged Baxter 55-51, Nashua-Plainfield beat Riceville 51-48 and North Butler clipped West Fork 53-50.

In girls basketball: Cedar Falls topped Prairie 45-39, Clarksville beat North Tama 57-24, Columbus got by Crestwood 52-45, Tripoli topped Don Bosco 37-28, Nashua-Plainfield edged Riceville 43-40 and Waterloo West beat Waterloo East 65-47.
