Cedar Falls Public Safety was called to the scene of a fire in a garage attached to the house early Friday morning. Public Safety Officers reached the fire at 2216 Sumac Avenue just before 1am, prior to the fire units arriving. They were able to wake the lone resident and get them out of the house safely. Fire crews were found the garage and breezeway fully engulfed, however they were able to extinguish the fire quickly. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
