Oelwein Man Enters Alford Plea in Sexual Abuse Case

An Oelwein man has entered an Alford Plea to one count of second degree criminal Sexual Conduct in Minnesota, according to KIMT. 42 year old Charles Jones traveled to to Mower County in Minnesota where he sexually abused an underage victim, allegedly on more than one occasion. Jones committed his crime nearly four years ago but his trial was delayed several times. It was finally scheduled to begin Monday but Jones entered the Alford Plea prior to the trial. The Alford Plea means Jones does not admit guilt but admits there is enough evidence to convict him. He will be sentenced on June 16th.
