Sunday the Iowa Hawkeye men captured their first Big Ten Tournament Championship since 2006 beating Purdue 75-66. Iowa is only the second school to win the men’s and women’s tournament in the same year. The Hawks did it in ’01 and ’22 and Ohio State did it in ’10 and ’11.
Iowa is a 5-seed in the NCAA Tournament and will play 12-seed Richmond on Thursday at 2:10. Iowa State earned an 11-seed and will face 6-seed LSU at 6:20 on Friday.
The Iowa women are a 2-seed and host Illinois State Friday.
