Update on Sinking Ship

An update has been provided on the USS The Sullivans, named for five Waterloo brothers killed in World War II, according to KWWL. The ship began taking on water last week. Crews have been pumping contaminants such as diesel and oil out of the ship. As of Saturday, 2,525 gallons of contaminants had been removed. They have put in an absorbent ribbon to suck in any contaminants that have been spilled. Its unknown where and how the breach was made as divers have not been able to be deployed due to the fuel in the water. Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown says he is committed to rescuing The Sullivans saying that failure is not an option.
