Life in Prison for Burning Wife’s Dead Body

A man convicted of killing his wife and burning her body before going to the Mall of America with another woman has been sentenced to life in prison plus five years, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 31 year old Fredrick Williams had a history of abusing his wife, 40 year old Lakisha Owens, before he strangled her and burned her body in a wooded area behind Garden of Memories cemetery. Williams then traveled to the Twin Cities where he was found staying with another woman. Williams says what happened was tragic but contends he is not responsible for his wife’s death.
