Thursday night on KWAY Country the 5th ranked Waverly-Shell Rock soccer team beat 4th ranked Xavier 2-1. Anna Stromberg scored both goals off Macy Smith creations in the first half and Xavier’s Mary Kate Moeder scored in the first half as well. The Go-Hawk defense held on to the win in the second half and helped Waverly-Shell Rock beat Xavier for a third time in a row in one year’s time with each win coming by just one goal. Waverly-Shell Rock is now 9-1 and Xavier is 7-3.
Thursday night the Denver girls soccer team blanked Anamosa on the road 5-0.
