Nashua Man Sentenced for Meth in Stolen SUV

A Nashua man has been sentenced to two days in jail after being caught with methamphetamine in a stolen SUV on Highway 218, according to KIMT. 40 year old Timothy Birmingham pleaded guilty to first degree Theft and Possession of Methamphetamine- 1st offense. In addition to the two days in jail he will also serve three to five years of supervised probation and must pay a $430 fine. He must also complete all recommended substance abuse treatment. Birmingham was stopped on Highway 218 near the Floyd/Mitchell County line just after midnight on February 8th. The SUV he was in came back stolen out of Cedar Falls. A Mitchell County K9 then indicated the presence of drugs in the vehicle and several pipes with meth residue and a scale were found.
