Tuesday on KWAY Country the Class 2A 5th ranked Waverly-Shell Rock girls soccer team got a 6-0 victory over Class 1A 15th ranked Columbus. The Go-Hawks got two goals a piece from Morgan Aikey and Anna Stromberg and a goal each from Gabby Baumhover and Macy Smith. Waverly-Shell Rock is now 12-1 on the year and has won 12 straight. The Sailors are now 7-5-1.
Tuesday on Y99.3 the 13th ranked Columbus boys fell in overtime to 7th ranked Grundy Center-Gladbrook-Reinbeck 2-1. Caleb Holthaus scored for the Sailors and Columbus led until 3:30 to play in regulation. In the first half of overtime an own goal was golden for Grundy Center-Gladbrook-Reinbeck.
