Wednesday night on Y99.3 Wapsie Valley volleyball swept its way to State beating Beckman 25-20. 25-13, 25-15.
Wednesday night on KWAY Country Denver ground out a 4-set win over Grundy Center 26-24, 19-25, 26-24, 25-19 to return to State. Kayla Knowles broke school record for kills in a match with 30 and kills in a season with 618 and counting in the process.
Also Wednesday night in Regional Championship Volleyball: Don Bosco swept North Cedar 25-19, 25-19, 25-10 to go to State and Sumner-Fredericksburg topped Lisbon in 4-sets 23-25, 25-12, 25-23, 25-19 to advance and Dunkerton fell last night to Gladbrook-Reinbeck 25-23, 25-6, 25-19 to end their season.
The four KWAY area volleyball teams will play at State on Tuesday at the Xtreme Arena in Coralville. Tuesday at 2:00 on Y99.3 listen as 7-seed Sumner-Fredericksburg will play 2-seed Western Christian in Class 2A. At 4:00 on Y99.3 3-seed Wapsie Valley will battle 6-seed Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont and at the same time on KWAY Country AM 1470 FM 96.3 5-seed Denver will play 4-seed Hinton both are Class 2A matches. At 8:00 Tuesday evening on Y99.3 in Class 1A 5-seed Don Bosco wil play 4-seed Ankeny Christian.
