Friday night the Waverly-Shell Rock baseball team begins its postseason journey. Friday evening the 20-11 Go-Hawks host the 17-16 Charles City Comets in the first round of Substate in Class 3A. The Go-Hawks have beaten the Comets four times this season. Pregame at 6:45 and first pitch at 7:00.
Thursday night the Waverly-Shell Rock softball season came to a close as the Go-Hawks fell to Boone 3-1 on Y99.3. Waverly-Shell Rock finished the season with an 11-19 overall record and with a winning record in the conference for the first time since 2018.
