Cresco Flag Football Scare Suspect Found Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity

A New Hampton man who threatened violence at a flag football game in Cresco last year has been found not guilty by reason of insanity, according to KIMT. 30 year old Dylan Schnur posted on his Instagram account on October 1st of last year “Bad shooter headed to the football game in Cresco (expletive) Iowa.” The threat forced the cancelation of the game. A mental examination was ordered for Schnur. During that examination he told the doctor that his post was to warn people about a bomb at the football field in Cresco, but a Cresco that existed on a planet called “Ortho”. Schnur said he had psychic abilities and was warning people that Ortho was the next planet to go to war. The doctor determined Schnur was suffering from a mental illness, schizoaffective disorder. He says Schnur was psychotic and manic and was experiencing paranoid and grandiose delusions, thought broadcasting and thought insertion, and he was attending to auditory hallucinations. Schnur was committed to the Penn Center Residential Facility in Delhi to receive mental health treatment.
