Tuesday night on KWAY Country the Waverly-Shell Rock basketball teams swept Charles City. In the girls game 12 different Go-Hawks scored as they won 70-24 and got their 30th win in a row over Charles City. On the boys side Noah Frazell hit six 3-pointer and converted two 4-point plays as he scored 23 points and the Go-Hawks beat the Comets 73-56. Both Go-Hawk teams are 2-0 in conference action.
Tuesday night on Y99.3 Sumner-Fredericksburg swept Wapsie Valley. In the girls game Isabelle Elliott scored 20 for the Cougars as they won 43-30. In the boys game Sumner-Fredericksburg edged Wapsie Valley 65-62 as Jay Howard hit eight 3-pointers included the winner at the buzzer.
In other boys basketball: Kennedy beat Cedar Falls 51-47, Clarksville got by Tripoli 66-48, Columbus beat the buzzer and Oelwein 50-49, Hudson topped Denver 79-48, Don Bosco beat Riceville 78-61, Waterloo East outscored Des Moines East 91-59 and Waterloo West crushed Jefferson 77-38.
In girls basketball: Cedar Falls crushed Kennedy 83-38, Clarksville beat Tripoli 62-35, Denver upset Hudson 48-35, Riceville crushed Don Bosco 69-17, Waterloo East crushed Des Moines East 79-33 and Jefferson edged Waterloo West 58-56.
