Saturday the Waverly-Shell Rock girls basketball team finished its season in the Class 4A Title Game. The Go-Hawks lost 43-25 to Clear Creek-Amana. Waverly-Shell Rock ended the season with a school record 25-1 season and the first ever appearance in the championship game. Waverly-Shell Rock’s Katelyn Eggena was named to the All Tournament Team.
The other champions were: in Class 5A Johnston, in Class 3A Solon, in Class 1A North Linn and in Class 2A Dike-New Hartford won their 4th straight title; the Wolverine seniors finish with 4 basketball and 3 volleyball championships and Payton Petersen was the All-Tournament Team Captain in 7 tournaments.
