A Waterloo man has been arrested for allegedly stealing a staircase, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 42 year old Jason Grovier is accused of driving to Pries Enterprises in Independence on April 28th. There, he and an alleged accomplice took an aluminum staircase, put it on their trailer and drove away. They then allegedly sold the staircase as scrap metal to Iowa Metal Recycling in Waterloo. Security cameras caught Grovier’s license plate, which helped identify him as the alleged culprit. He has been charged with second degree Theft.
