A Waterloo man has been charged with creating a fake employee for the hotel in North Liberty where he was a General Manager, according to KCRG. 43 year old Robert Mosley allegedly hired a fake employee named Julian Roby and clocked in and out for the employee from April 3rd of 2023 to November 20th of 2023. The paycheck direct deposit went into an account believed to be associated with Mosley. Investigators found that none of the other employees at the hotel had ever heard of or seen anyone named Julian Roby. They also discovered that the social security number that had been used for payroll purposes came back to someone from Jerseyville, Illinois that was not named Julian Roby. Mosley has been charged with first degree Theft and Identity Theft of Over $10,000.
