Tuesday the Waverly-Shell Rock girls soccer season came to a close at the State Tournament as the 2-seeded Go-Hawks were upset by 7-seed North Scott 2-1. Waverly-Shell Rock’s Lynston Souhrada scored with 32.4 seconds left in the first half to give the Go-Hawks a 1-0 lead at halftime but the Lancers responded with two unaswered goals in the second half.
Waverly-Shell Rock ended the season 14-2 and only allowed 6 goals all season. The Go-Hawks will lose two seniors from this squad.
