Deere and Company has been ordered to pay more than a million dollars in back wages to Black and Hispanic job seekers, according to KWWL. The company struck an agreement with the US Department of Labor to resolve allegations of hiring discrimination by the company. Nearly 200 Black applicants in Waterloo were affected. Nearly 80 other workers throughout the state were also impacted. $1.1million will be dedicated toward back wages and more than 50 job offers will be made to people that are eligible. The company says they will evaluate its personnel practices.
