Man Found Guilty in Odd Break-In

A Waterloo man has been found guilty of entering the apartment of a coworker and leaving a note intended to cause relationship issues between the woman and her boyfriend, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 25 year old Thomas Connor picked the lock of the couples apartment on July 11th. The boyfriend was alerted by the couple’s security system and returned home to detain Connor until police could arrive. After Connor was taken to jail a note was found that purported to be from the boyfriend saying that he fantasized about the woman’s younger sister. The woman’s underwear drawer was also found open. Connor was found guilty of Burglary but the judge determined it was not sexually motivated because the letter itself did not provide him sexual gratification and the underwear drawer was open but not rifled through, therefore Connor will not need to register as a sex offender. Connor is also awaiting trial for violating a restraining order by twice entering the employee only area of the grocery store where the woman worked after he had been fired following his arrest. He is also awaiting trial on theft charges for allegedly removing the shorts and underwear of a sleeping teenage girl in August.
