Drug Arrest After Traffic Stop

Two people were arrested in Floyd County early Monday morning after drugs were found during a traffic stop, according to KIMT. The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office says they pulled over a vehicle on Highway 218 just before 1:45 yesterday morning. Two people inside the vehicle were identified as 41 year old James Davis of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota and 40 year old Ashley Smith of St. Louis, Missouri. Investigators allegedly found 14 grams of ecstacy and 14 grams of marijuana on Davis. Inside Smith’s purse they allegedly found 21 grams of methamphetamine, a loaded handgun, seven grams of marijuana, and five grams of ecstacy. Davis told deputies that they were bringing the ecstacy back from St. Louis to a relative in Minnesota. Davis and Smith were both booked into the Floyd County jail.
