Nearly 95% of Iowa’s corn crop for grain has been harvested, according to Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey.
Even though the harvest is winding down, there’s still no shortage of farm vehicles on the road. Moving grain.
One driver in Fayette County is lucky to walk away with no injuries after a collision with a tractor last Thursday night. Derek Loomis from Denver was driving a Massey Ferguson 1805 tractor when it was hit from behind by a Ford Escape.
And one driver was taken to the hospital after they collided with a pickup truck hauling an anhydrous ammonia tank, causing a leak.
The best advice? Drive defensively. On narrow roads make sure there’s room for everyone to get by.
