Wednesday night four KWAY teams punched their tickets to the State Volleyball Tournament and the KWAY Sports Network will be going to the Xtreme Arena with them.
Wednesday night on Y99.3 #1 ranked Denver swept Bellevue 25-15, 25-21, 25-14. Bailey Mullihan had 13 kills and Adeana Murch and Mylee Thurm each had 12 as the Cyclones won to be the top seed in Class 2A’s field.
On KWAY Country the 12th ranked Wapsie Valley Warriors swept 6th ranked Union 25-20, 25-12, 25-21 to go to State. Taylor Buhr had 17 kills to send the Warriors to State for the first time since 2022.
Wednesday night 2nd ranked Janesville swept IKM-Manning 25-16, 25-18, 25-19 to advance to State. The Wildcats will be the 2-seed at State.
Wednesday night 5th ranked Dunkerton reverse swept 4th ranked Holy Trinity 17-25, 17-25, 25-17, 26-24, 15-11 to advance to the State Tournament for the first time in school history.
On Tuesday at 2:00 on Y99.3 in Class 2A 1-seed Denver will play 8-seed Wapsie Valley in the quarterfinals. At 6:25 on Y99.3 2-seed Janesville will play 7-seed Gladbrook Reinbeck and then at 8:00 on KWAY Country AM 1470 FM 96.3 4-seed Dunkerton will face 5-seed BCLUW in Class 1A Quarterfinal action.
Wednesday night Iowa City Regina swept Sumner-Fredericksburg to advance to State.
