Thursday night on KWAY Country the Waverly-Shell Rock boys fell to Waterloo East 53-45. The Go-Hawks are now 5-6 on the season.
Thursday night on Y99.3 Nashua-Plainfield swept Sumner-Fredericksburg. In the girls game Sumner-Fredericksburg scored 18 points in the 1st quarter but just 15 the rest of the game to lose 45-33. In the boys game Landon Foelske hit a contested layup late as Nashua-Plainfield nipped the Cougars 60-59.
In other girls basketball: North Butler topped Don Bosco 40-34, Turkey Valley crushed Tripoli 69-12 and South Winneshiek ran over Wapsie Valley 45-28.
In boys basketball: North Butler edged Don Bosco 42-39 and Wapsie Valley beat South Winneshiek 78-61.
