Monday night on KWAY Country the 7-seeded North Polk Comets upset 2-seeded Waverly-Shell Rock 2-1 in the Class 2A State Quarterfinals. The Go-Hawks got down 1-0 at halftime and were down 2-0 until Linde Hubbard scored with 29:35 left. Waverly-Shell Rock could never find the equalizer. The Go-Hawks finished with a 15-2-1 record.
Monday night the Waverly-Shell Rock baseball team lost 6-3 to 5th ranked Beckman.
