Wednesday night on Y99.3 Brittney Bodensteiner went 3-3 with a 2-run home run as the Class 4A 15th ranked Waverly-Shell Rock softball team beat Class 1A 2nd ranked Clarksville 4-2 on Senior Night in the so-called Wedeking War.
Wednesday night on KWAY Country the 9th ranked Waverly-Shell Rock Go-Hawks swept Decorah to get the season sweep over the Vikings and improve to 21-5 on the season. The Go-Hawks took Game One 6-3 as Grady Harris went 2-3 with a triple. In Game Two Waverly-Shell Rock trailed 2-0 before scoring 9 runs with 2 outs in the bottom of the first and won 14-4 in 5 innings. Gehrig Tibbitts and Jack Elsamiller both homered in the win as the Go-Hawks have now won 12 in a row.
