The Bremer County Fair came to a close after a rare eight day run. The combine demolition derby was postponed to Sunday afternoon after being rained out on Friday. During the event competitor John Dilger suffered a head injury as he was one of the last two medium sized combines left. Derby organizers quickly stopped the event and emergency responders worked to get Dilger out of his combine safely. Dilger was later released from the hospital and was back at the fairgrounds later Sunday evening. Dilger says he suffered a mild concussion and a cut on his forehead.
