The Wartburg College men’s basketball team will face Benedictine University at 5:30 on Friday in the first round of the NCAA Tournament hosted by Wisconsin-River Falls. The winner will advance to play on Saturday at 7 p.m. against the winner of the other first round match-up between Wisconsin-River Falls and Bethel University.
The Wartburg women’s basketball team will play the University of ChicagoFriday at 5:30 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in St. Paul, Minn. St. Thomas will serve as host.
The Knights received the automatic bid as they won the Iowa Conference Tournament. The Orange and Black made program history as they were the first team in school history to advance to the Final Four last season. Friday’s winners will advance to the second round game Saturday at 7 p.m.
