A Black Bear cub was recently spotted near Wellsburg, about 50 minutes southeast of Waverly.
While this is an extremely rare occurrence in this part of the country its not completely unheard of and Bremer County Conservation Director Andy Hockenson shares his tips for dealing with a bear sighting here in Iowa.
Hockenson says that bear and moose and other animals normally associated with the far northern states and Canada wander every so often into Iowa in search of food or a mate.
