Tuesday night on KWAY Country the Waverly-Shell Rock basketball teams swept Oelwein for the second time this season. The Go-Hawk girls won 45-22 led by Olivia Phillip’s 15 points. In the boys game Waverly-Shell Rock won 53-44 as Jack Seward scored 17 points.
On Y99.3 Janesville swept Clarksville. The Wildcats won the girls game 51-38 and the boys won 67-50.
Tuesday night in area girls basketball: Aplington-Parkersburg topped Wapsie Valley 62-25, Cedar Falls crushed Cedar Rapids Jefferson 68-28, Denver edged Union 46-43, Dike-New Hartford beat Sumner-Fredericksburg 56-47, Dunkerton ran by Don Bosco 62-26, Hudson topped East Marshall 42-32, Jesup beat Columbus 55-37, North Butler smashed Northwood-Kinsett 42-24, Waterloo West outscored Dubuque Wahlert 51-42 and Xavier beat Waterloo East 70-39.
