Tuesday night on KWAY Country the Waverly-Shell Rock Go-Hawk basketball teams swept New Hampton for the second time this season. The Go-Hawks won the girls game 57-44 led by a balanced attack featuring Olivia Phillip’s 11 points. In the boys game it was a 3-point contest at half before the Go-Hawks scored a season-high 70 points to win 70-46 led by Jack Seward’s 16 points.

Tuesday night in area girls basketball: Cedar Falls crushed Linn-Mar 69-36, Cedar Rapids Kennedy beat Waterloo West 65-55, Cedar Rapids Kennedy outscored Waterloo East 91-61, Clarksville topped Tripoli 62-38, Dike-New Hartford edged Aplington-Parkersburg 50-48, Dunkerton stomped Waterloo Christian 57-17, Hudson beat Wapsie Valley 46-38, Janesville crushed Riceville 61-10, Jesup topped Denver 53-38, Osage beat North Butler 62-35, St. Ansgar thumped Nashua-Plainfield 62-35, Union beat Columbus 50-36, and Sumner-Fredericksburg outgunned Gladbrook-Reinbeck 80-30.

In area boys hoops: Aplington-Parkersburg beat Dike-New Hartford 74-58, Cedar Falls topped Linn-Mar 63-45, Union beat Columbus 56-30, Cedar Rapids Washington outscored Waterloo East 90-68, Denver beat Jesup 58-40, Don Bosco crushed CAL 79-12, Gladbrook-Reinbeck handled Sumner-Fredericksburg 75-57, Hudson clipped Wapsie Valley 77-74 in overtime, Tripoli beat Clarksville 76-52 and Waterloo West topped Cedar Rapids Kennedy 63-55.
