Tuesday night on KWAY Country the Waverly-Shell Rock boys basketball team demolished Humbolt 74-44 in the first round of Sub-State. Luke Velky led the Go-Hawks with 18 points. Waverly-Shell Rock next plays Thursday versus Crestwood who beat Clear Lake 87-83 in double overtime.
Tuesday night in Class 1A District boys basketball: Don Bosco ran by AGWSR 78-46, Dunkerton topped Postville 63-44, Hudson edged Rockford 38-34, Tripoli clipped Turkey Valley 46-43 and Wapsie Valley beat Central City 58-36.
