Tuesday night on Y99.3 the Tripoli Panther volleyball team punched its ticket to State. The 6th ranked Panthers beat the 9th ranked Edgewood-Colesburg Vikings in four sets. Tripoli won 25-11, 30-32, 25-17 and 25-23. Tripoli will be the 5-seed in the Class 1A State Volleyball Tournament and will play 4-seed Starmont next Wednesday night at 8:00. Tuesday night on KWAY Country the top-ranked Janesville Wildcats swept the unranked Newell-Fonda Mustangs to go to State for their 9th year in a row. The Wildcats won 25-14, 25-16 and 25-15 and were led by Bree Thompson’s 4 aces and 22 kills. Janesville will be the 1-seed at the State Tournament and will play 8-seed Gladbrook-Reinbeck next Wednesday night at 6:00. Y99.3 will have all the live coverage.
