Another Church Burglary Arrest

A second man has been arrested for allegedly breaking into church garages in Cedar Falls, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 48 year old Michael Brinkman has been charged with two counts of second degree burglary. According to police Brinkman and Melvin Manning cut a hole in the overhead door of a garage belonging to Community of Christ Church and took a power washer, fire pit, and lawn tools. The two then allegedly broke into a garage owned by Greenhill Baptist Church and stole tools, a floor jack, and containers of gasoline. Police used text messages between the two and DNA from discarded cigarettes at the scene to implicate the two men. Brinkman is being held on a $10,000 bond.
