Tuesday night on KWAY Country the Waverly-Shell Rock baseball team upset Class 3A 6th ranked Central DeWitt 5-1. Go-Hawk right fielder Nolan Foster went 2-2 with 2 triples and Jack Wedemeier went 6 solid innings on the mound in the win. The Go-Hawks are now 19-8 on the season.
Tuesday night on Y99.3 the Waverly-Shell Rock softball team got a conference sweep. The Go-Hawks beat Crestwood 6-1 in Game 1 as Jillian Diercks blasted a 3-run home run. In Game 2 Waverly-Shell Rock won 5-1 as Natalie Beck got her first home run of the season. With the wins the Go-Hawks remain in first place in the Northeast Iowa Conference.
